Verse Group Double Win for Identity Design Excellence
NEW YORK October 24, 2007 — Verse Group, an independent brand consultancy, wins inclusion in the 2008 American Corporate Identity Annual. The book, published by HarperCollins, will be in stores November of this year. It is a showcase of America’s best corporate identity programs. Verse Group was recognized for the Coldwell Banker Previews International identity as well as the new Verse Group brand. These programs were deemed exceptional by a panel of leading designers based on artistic merit, technical execution, and communication effectiveness.
The Coldwell Banker Previews International identity program helped the leading luxury real estate service distinguish itself from the rest of the market. Used on everything from lawn signs to websites to advertising, the new identity sets the standard for quality and excellence.
“We were looking for a new way to tell Previews’ exceptional story.” said Michael Thibodeau, co-founder of Verse Group. “We used our co-creation process to identify the rich metaphorical language that would resonate most with buyers and sellers of million plus dollar properties.”
Coldwell Banker selected Verse Group shortly after the consultancy was founded. The brand identity was developed using Verse’s NarrativeBranding® methodology. It is among the first of Verse’s work to reach the market.
Winning for two designs is a particular honor for Verse Group since its second win is for its own brand identity. “Our new mark, evocative of an open book, is a simple mnemonic for our NarrativeBranding methodology. We are thrilled that this methodology has resulted in two award-winning identities,” said Randall Ringer, co-founder.
Verse Group was founded in 2004 by Michael Thibodeau and Randall Ringer. Both are well-known in the brand identity industry for their work such as restaging UPS, creating the VOOM brand, creating Microsoft’s MSN butterfly, restaging CARE, and other award-winning programs prior to founding Verse. Today the consultancy is gaining international recognition for high profile programs such as the NXP Semiconductor branding and restaging the Days Inn identity.
